About Me
Hello! My name is Carla Rentería (Ms. R) and I’m thrilled to be your child’s art teacher this year. I’ve been teaching art to students from Pre‑K through middle school, helping them explore creativity, problem‑solving, and self‑expression. Outside of school, I’m the founder of Artful Little Minds, a community art initiative that brings environmental awareness and creativity together. I believe art can inspire change, build confidence, and connect us to our world.
¡Hola! Mi nombre es Carla Rentería (Ms. R) y estoy muy emocionada de ser la maestra de arte de su hijo este año. He enseñado arte a estudiantes desde Pre‑K hasta la secundaria, ayudándolos a explorar la creatividad, la resolución de problemas y la autoexpresión. Fuera de la escuela, soy la fundadora de Artful Little Minds, una iniciativa comunitaria de arte que combina la conciencia ambiental con la creatividad. Creo que el arte puede inspirar cambios, desarrollar la confianza y conectarnos con nuestro mundo.

Help us make our student art shows shine! Volunteers can assist with setting up displays, arranging artwork, and preparing materials so every piece is ready to be celebrated.

Art Club
Create to Connect Art Club
We are excited to share that our art program received funding from the Dallas Education Foundation to launch the Create to Connect Art Club! Our goal is to have students’ artwork featured in our community so they can feel like true artists.
If you know of a location where we can host an art show or display student artwork, please email me at crenteria@dallasisd.org or call me at 945‑208‑8464.
The Art Club will begin in October and more information will be sent home about how students can apply to join. The club will be open to 4th–8th grade students and will meet once a week after school separately 4th-5th & 6th-8th grade.
Nos complace compartir que nuestro programa de arte recibió fondos de la Dallas Education Foundation para lanzar el Club de Arte “Create to Connect”! Nuestro objetivo es que las obras de arte de nuestros estudiantes se presenten en nuestra comunidad para que puedan sentirse como verdaderos artistas.
Si conoce algún lugar donde podamos organizar una exhibición de arte o mostrar las obras de los estudiantes, envíeme un correo a crenteria@dallasisd.org o llámeme al 945‑208‑8464.
El Club de Arte comenzará en octubre y se enviará más información a casa sobre cómo los estudiantes pueden solicitar unirse. El club estará abierto a estudiantes de 4.º a 8.º grado y se reunirá una vez por semana después de clases.
